Some CA names to google:
Deep Creek
Blayney
Ida Bell
Red’s Meadow
Buckeye
I’m curious if there are any near the trail in WA. I suppose the old Kennedy hot spring is still buried?

thanx markv…i think this will add a nice dimension to the hike. and my old bones and muscles will be happy.

You can rent a car in Mammoth and drive 10 minutes into the valley, which is the caldera of the second largest supervolcano on the planet. There’s hot springs all over the area. Check out “Hot springs of the eastern sierra” good ref book. Deep creek rocks too. I camped there 3 nights last summer. Possibly one of the nicest I’ve ever been too. Do your self a favor and budget some days at Deep Creek. Blow through Big Bear, resupply there, but remember that Deep Creek is coming up so don’t kill several nights in the Bear.
Guino
If you have a couple extra days, head down into Kern Canyon from Wallace Creek - then south about 10 miles. Comfortable concrete tub and really hot water.

I second the idea for Ida Bell Hot Springs…just a bit of a sidetrack from Red’s Meadow. Awesome place. The detour is also a beautiful alternative to a very high and dry part of the PCT/JMT. I hit the springs on the JMT last year after getting a tipoff at Red’s. Best reroute ever!..It’s also where I got my trail name updated.
Good luck,

There is a spot called Goldmeyer Hot Springs just north of Snowqualmie Pass in Washington. It is on the detour route from 2010 that heads west from Snoqualmie. They have a campground at $5 per night. It is a good place to soak. If anyone is interested, email me at pastortelcflc@yahoo.com and I can look up the exact directions.
Rodney
has some hot springs. They’re a few miles off the PCT but they also accept resupply packages.

Just a few extra tips (listed south to north on the PCT) to go with the info above:
(1) Nobody mentioned Warner Springs! I guess they’re too obvious… There are two massive hot-spring fed pools @ the resort. PCT hikers have traditionally gotten a great rate. As of last summer the resort ownership was changing hands back to the Native Americans who originally resided there. A fantastic spot to take a zero day & soak…
(2) Deep Creek is great as Guino mentions, but can be a ZOO on the weekends - with a hippie/party crowd. On my PCT hikes, I try to hit it mid-week.
(2) Iva Bell is down the Cascade Valley alternate route on Fish Creek (JMT section of PCT just south of Reds Meadow). There are at least 5 natural tubs here & are some of the most amazing hot springs I’ve ever seen. There are 3 small tubs on the edge of a steep hillside (about 300’vertical above the campsites) with views all the way down-valley to Yosemite. I was there all alone last summer on the summer solstice & had to search for a while to find the springs. AMAZING place.
(3) Red’s Meadow: the concrete hot spring is open until the road opens (depends on snow every year - last year it opened 6/23 - I happened to arrive 6/22 ) After the road opens, the forest service locks the tub & pipes the water into some nearby public showers (free).
(3) Kennedy Hot Springs (Washington) were destroyed by the flood of '03. I have some incredible memories of soaking in that carbonated water hot spring on a PCT thru-hike in '97. C’est la vie…
Have a great thru-hike & enjoy the wonderful soaking opportunities.
freebird
in Lassen NP at least has a geothermal heated pool. I didn’t go in but it would make sense that they also have a “hot tub.”
