I am looking to hike the JMT this summer, but as usual, I have procrastinated on the permits, and just found out all the entry and exit trailhead reserved permits are gone. Does anyone know the possibility of the show-up permit at Yosemite and the other trailheads?

A permit for one is super easy to get as long as you show up whne they open. Worst case it will take you two days.

awesome, thanks man, do you know about for 2 people? Are they more open to giving permits if we are thru-hiking, not just dayhiking? thanks

Two people will not be a problem. Just get to the permit office an hour before they open (I think 7am or 7:30 am). Worst case, you will get a permit for the following day.
