Permit Processing Time
I am starting my hike from Glacier Point (3rd choice). The Wilderness Center in Yosemite Valley opens at 8 AM and the 1st bus to Glacier Point leaves at 8:30 AM. How long does it take to process permits and will I have time to make it from the Wilderness Center to Yosemite Lodge where the bus loads or should I plan on taking the later 10:30 bus?

In my experience it only takes 5-10 minutes to get a permit, but I’ve only gotten permits from Tuolumne, not the Valley. You’ll also probably have to be the first or second person in line to be able to make it to the 8:30 bus, which means you’ll have to line up well before they open. If it were me, I’d just plan on taking the later bus. That way you can start your hike more leisurely. Have fun!

Thanks ducky! 8:30 might be rushing it. Unless I can get my starting point changed I’ll take the later bus.
