Hey all…I’m thinking heavily of doing the JMT this September. Just wondering what hoops I have to go through…what about permits? And where is the nearest bus station/airport?
And also, where’s the best resupply points? I’m reading a few journals, but need more current info…

I can’t help with the permits, as my buddy handled all of that for our JMT hike last September.
We resupplied at Muir Trail Ranch and Reds Meadow. You could skip sending a resupply to MTR and help yourself to the leftover hiker food there. When we were there, there were 16 5-gallon buckets filled to the top with food and such… free for the taking.
