we are thinking about doing the trail but need maps,data books,etc etc to do it. I have no puter (only my blackberry) Would like to start at the Fla border and go to Springer so will need info for the other trail or trails (like snail mail addresses etc)thanks. enjoying this years journals hope to meet you out there one day. chilly willy & just RaY

Here is a link that you should be able to access with your Blackberry. It has most of the info for the Alabama and the Georgia Pinhoti trails including section by section hiking info. There are also links to maps, etc. You probably should look for info on the Eastern Continental Trail which would help you from the Fla border to the beginning of the Pinhoti.

Nat geo maps for the GA section of Dalton to Northern Terminus. Fairly well marked, but sometimes the white markers are missing and the trail deviates from topo maps and data found on the interweb (primarily on road sections). I had to backtrack for missed turns a couple times on my bike, but probably not as much of an issue if you're hiking. Have a great trip. Bikepacked the GA section in 6 days.

Here is a Google Map for the Alabama roadwalk, assuming you finish the Florida Trail at the Alabama border by taking section 8N of the Florida Trail (not section 8S, which goes towards Pensacola):
