I hear that a thru-hiker this past summer posted a query asking if there was a Northwest plant guide in the form of an iPhone app.
I’m too late to help with that particular hike, but YES! I have published a pair of iPhone apps called
Northwest Mountain Wildflowers and
Northwest and Rocky Mountain Trees and Shrubs. Find them on the App Store (iTunes store).
They cover the PCT from Diamond Peak north, and also cover the mountains of Idaho, Montana, and big parts of BC, Alberta, and Wyoming.
Almost 700 species total, with double that many photos, lots of interesting pertinent info, search functions to help you identify what you’re looking at, and they work really nicely.
