Does anyone know anything about this campsite near Salisbury, Ct? Is it a good spot. It's not listed in AWOL's guide, but I found it listed other places. Any info will help!

I think the campsite has been closed, It is very close to the road and parking lot off rt 41 in salsbury, It never was a good spot to camp, next camp spot north is not too far away and has great views from the shelter.

We spent the night there last July . From the road in Salisbury follow the trail North bound turn left at the spring and contuine on 25 yards there is a clearing, maybe and old road. We pitched our tents at that spot. It looks like many tents have been pitch there in the past. It is near houses that are below the trail.
Heard people screaming down at the road about 2AM. Very weird place.

I stayed there 2 or 3 years ago going from Jug End to Kent. Had some reservations as it is close to the road but it's a fairly steep climb from the parking area which discourages casual visitors and the beer party set. This is a surprisingly scenic area of the trail especially North.
