If you have a chance look up the Poodle Dog plant. From what we are told it doesn’t effect everyone but it has put us off the trail with a rash much worse than poison Oak.

This plant is a fire follower and took over some large areas of the Los Padres National Forest after The 2006 Day Fire. It can grow up to 6 feet tall and has has bunches of blue flowers on the ends of stalks. It may appear along the PCT where the Station Fire burned the hottest. A red rash with swelling appears one or two days after exposure. Some cases require a doctor visit for cortisone treatment. For some people this is serious stuff.
