Port clinton resupply or maildrop

									.....hi thruhikers!.....well....it looks like paw and i will be out there again this year!....(yay!).....but we've always done lots of maildrops before, and we're wanting to resupply from the trail this time as much as possible.....ANY THOUGHTS or ADVICE?.....we are presently trying to figure out a FEW places that we might actually need a drop, and thought port clinton might be one (after grubbin' down a "hotel hamburger", of course!)....but i know the outfitter (on the river)may not be open for drops(if it's even still there at all)....and the tiny little post office?....(well... we know the fate of a lot of small town post offices!).....we see in the '09 data book you can flag a bus in front of the peanut shop to go into hamburg?...or "cabela's" outfitters?).........any help will be appreciated....thanks!

									From Port Clinton get a ride back north up the road to Pottsville, PA.  There you can visit the Yuengling Brewery, America's oldest Brewery. Pottsville is a big city where you can resupply or get a mail drop. It's a little far from the trail, but worth the trip to Yuengling Brewery. :cheers

									maildrop at the post office was what i did last time through.  but yes check to confirm they are still operating and of course their weird hours.

									I did a maildrop at the post office, but had to go into Hamburg at the Wal-Mart store to get a new pair of boots because of the rocks of Pa. It was a easy hitch. I also had plan to stay at the Pavilion a 0 day but moved on because of the insects. The message is do what works for you but learn to adjust, adjust, and adjust some more. Happy trails Maw-ee and Paw. To every journey there is the first step. :)

									Funny that you are heading out on the AT again - so are we AND we are also planning to buy on the way.  Just wanted to say Hi & good luck.   We starting 2/8.

									Go to Hamburg instead a 3.5 mile hike east  GOOD LUCK.

									Yes i agree with red-dog and dreamwalker hitch into hamburg instead you will have a better reception and its easier to resupply plus the CABELAS have a AYCE lunch buffet :cheers :cheers :pimp :pimp GOOD LUCK:smokin :smokin
