Anybody out there from Portland,Oregon hiking 2005 headed to Campo late April? Wanna share a ride - and $ for a one way rental car?

If you don’t find someone to share a ride through the forum, you’ll possibly meet other Portland thru-hikers at the PCTA Trail Fest. It’s in Portland on April 9.

Unless you are just wanting to experience a roadtrip, it would probably be cheaper to fly Southwest. If you split gas, two days of rental car rates, and food then you are probably looking at $130. If you fly, then it should run you around $93 for the ticket and then $8 for your meal while waiting for your connecting flight. Just a thought.

but if you go road, then you are not forcibly separated from your not-so-easily-replaceable gear.

you’re right ganj, plenty of tickets at southwest for under $100 after taxes, fees.

I’ll be heading down in time for the kick-off and would consider a road trip. Email me if you’re still considering it.
