If privies would make your Sierra hike more enjoyable (YMMV)I think you would be really happy on the Tahoe Rim Trail http://www.tahoerimtrail.org/ . The 165 mile loop trail is slightly shorter than the 222 mile JMT and has privies at road crossings or trailheads. There seemed to be one every day. The west side shares tread with the PCT and the trail offers very nice mountain hiking with emergency bailout points. The added advantage is that you arrive at your car when you have completed the hike!
If you hike the JMT please pack out used TP. Thanks!
Happy Trails either place!

Little Yosemite Valley, 6 miles or so from Yosemite Valley trailhead.
Sunrise High Sierra Camp, one very LONG day from YV trailhead.
Tuolumne Meadows, one very very short day from Sunrise HSC.
Red’s Meadow, another 2 fairly big days from Tuolumne Meadows. (something like a 1/4 mile off the trail, but you’ll want to detour for the cafe and store anyway.)
That’s all of them within a mile of the trail. I camped at all 3 of them (not ON the privy, but y’know) and they all were worthwhile spots (especially Sunrise HSC), if you don’t mind people.

I said i camped at all 3, but mentioned 4. I didn’t camp at Tuolumne, since i heard Lyell Canyon further along was really pretty. It was.

Sunrise HSC is definitely worth a stop. I took a zero there to acclimatise and spent the day exploring. There is a trail that runs out the back of the camp and a fairly easy bushwhack to the summit of the mountain that overlooks Long Meadow, awesome. You don’t have to pay to camp (at least I didn’t) and if you’re lucky the HSC tent will have some snickers bars for sale, very expensive but who can blame them.
Also the head of Lyell Canyon is worth a stop as Mark says. It’s a good place to be before the morning ascent of your first real pass.
Red’s meadow was a great place to get a mammoth breakfast before starting the day proper, and also good to use the restroom before having to dig holes.
There’s also Vermilion resort and the JMT ranch for toilet stops but they’re at the half way mark.
I’m so envious!

Although it’s technically not on the JMT, there is a privy at Trail Camp just to the east of the Mt. Whitney ridge on the trail down to Whitney Portal. You may be tempted to blast through here and get down to Whitney Portal as quickly as you can once you’ve summited Whitney, but the view of the mountain, lit by the rising sun, from Trail Camp in the morning is spectacular.

Their website states that the facilities are for the paying guests due to limited septic capacity. I didn’t ask.
They did tell us to fill up our water bottles, which was nice.
When I passed the Trail Camp privy (8 a.m. on a Thursday), the line was very long. At that moment I realized that I was about to re-enter a world where one waits for such things.
