Q's bout resupply

Drum roll, please . . .

I, the original and never marginal Kineo Kid, am going to be hiking on the AT this year after all. YEAH for me!!! Springer to Damascus, I think it shall be - no time for the whole trail, not yet, but hey . . . I’m just stoked. March 29th, baby.

But anyway, I was wondering about resupplying. The companion lists various resupply points as being either long-term or short-term.

What is the difference between long-term and short-term?

Long-term supply is usually a grocery store or supermarket.

Short-term supply can be a gas station with vending machines,
or, at best a mini mart. Sometimes outfitters sell food, like
dehydrated meals/veggies.

Selection can be very limited at ST supply points.
