Hi all. I am looking for some active forums for short hikes. Some friends and I are doing the Hike Inn and approach trail to Springer in March and I have some preparation questions. I have only been able to find forums for thru-hiking and although that is in the plans for one day, right now, we are going to be doing small portions of it. Can someone direct me to a place I can ask some questions about shorter hiking (5-10 miles?) Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much! We do have reservations already. I am so excited! Being away from GA for the past six years, I didn’t know about it until recently. We are hiking up with some friends of our from college who are part of The Friends of Hike Inn. Thanks again for your help!

www.georgiahikes.com has alot of good info on shorter Georgia only hikes. Topo maps, trail reports, etc. You can get a topo map of the Hike Inn trail and AT approach trail.

You will absolutely enjoy your visit here. Remember one thing though when it comes to eating breakfast and dinner…DO NOT TALK… After 30 minutes they yank the plates. Sit down and shovel it in and talk afterwards.
