I have been planning on using the GoLite Virga jacket for my upcoming JMT hike but apparently waited too long to order it as I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone have any good lightweight suggestions for a comparable jacket? What have you used in the past?

I carried Frogg Toggs for 15 days in August. We had no rain. Not a drop. In fact, I think we had clouds only about 5 or 6 days.

I have been using the North Face Diad Jacket this year - light weight at 7.2oz (med) and waterproof. Has gotten great reviews. Not as warm as a PreCip and has - IMHO - better ventilation. Only downfall is that it has one pocket (breast pocket) - oh well keeps the weight down…

Marmot Precip has done me well, and is very light. Too expensive th ough…gotta find it on sale somewhere.

Go with Frogg Toggs–light weight and very reasonably priced.
