yes! i agree with 0101!..we loved new york!..but that “march thing”…i dunno about bouldering in NY if it’s icy…delaware water gap is pretty, too(if the weather wasn’t icy or snowy you could begin with the challenge at palmerton out of leigh high gap…difficult…but there’s an alternate route if you need)…the “sages ravine” area in massachusetts is a real beauty and was one of our favorites, say from somewhere like sharon mtn. or even kent,CT…((the “10-mile river” area in connecticut is also REALLY pretty…but still that winter weather thing is still buggin’ me…maybe you could drive down to VA…“the three ridges”/“priest” area is awesome but challenging, but MIGHT be a bit warmer…if you could at all, i would HIGHLY recommend a drive down to the northeast section of tennessee!..say from erwin to dennis cove(hampton,tn)…that way you’d get to experience two of the best hostels on the trail, too! (and the help and hospitality of “miss janet” and “bob and pat peoples”!..the area is absolutely gorgeous!..then of course there’s “the grayson highlands” (just past damascus,VA)…AWESOME!..but again in march it can be very much WINTERTIME!..on march22 this year we spent the night in what seemed like a freezer at the thomas knob shelter (one of our favorites!), but boy!..were we COLD!..i’d say just pack your WINTER GEAR and head out to any of these places…even SOUTHERN pennsylvania with all its rocks is lovely (i think)…maw-ee
