I just returned home from the trail, my 3rd trip since xmas…We went down the G View to a dry camp on Horseshoe Meadow and it was narly and icy at the top, one of my buds fell at the 1st sback…We got water in 2 miles then headed west…The trail in places was pretty close to the edge of a 2/300 foot dropoff!!! but having done the Goat Rocks in Wa this was easier…We had a 2nd dry camp in Cremation Creek but ir rained enough for me to fill my water bottle from drips alone. We hit the Kaibab around 9 am and headed down to PRanch…set up our Henrys Tarps tents then went up for lunch and then the skys opened and we got lots of rain and hail…too much to run back to check on our gear but by 330 we went back to a still standing and dry inside floorless tent nice
Some of the group did a 15 mile traverse west to Monument then a 9 1/2 mile out…i opted to go out halfway to I.Gardens then 4 1/2 out the next day…
Meadow Ed…who is lookinf for 2/3 folks to do a canyon hike on Oct. 29th!!! Want to come???
