In 97 on my thru hike I did,with a full pack and no support,from Caratunk to Katahdin in 4 days. All this hype for a supported hike and I dont see anything special here.good luck

I understand that the AT was designed for thoes who seek fellowship with the wilderness, so speed records seem to have no place here. Hiking the AT should be something you do for yourself, quietly and with contemplation. To race up it with the intend of glorifying yourself serves no purpose here.

My thoughts are. The guy wants to see how fast he can run the AT. GOOD FOR HIM! and who cares what anybody thinks. Hiking the AT is anything you want it to be, not what someone else thinks it should be.
