Rental Car in Hot Springs NC?

Anyone know if I will be able to get a rental car there? If not, where is the closest town that I can?

No rental in Hot Springs. Newport, Tn. or Ashville, N.C. would be the closest.

In 1999, I had to interrupt my thru-hike to drive to Florida for a wedding. There was no place to rent a car in Hot Springs or Asheville (maybe they just didn’t have one available that weekend, I can’t remember) and I had to go to to Johnson City to the airport. Hope this helps.

I rented a car out of Johnson City (on the trail in H/S) last year, closest place, due to airport. Need airports to rent cars usually. Bluff Mtn shuttled me back, $85. youch. Talk to Miss Janet. But remember, she’s not really a shuttler :smiley:

Thanks for all the info. Miss Janet, no I’m not Venus. I’ve been able to make arrangements for someone to pick me up in Hot Springs. If the plan falls through I’ll try some of the things you mentioned.

If there is a car dealership nearby they may rent one. I rented a car from one in Franklin last year. I did it again in Johnson City (Enterprise) and later on, when I got off the trail, in Roanoke (Airport).
