I’m from the other end of the state. this is the only useful item that was put on the fire / rescue blog;

“Not sure what the overall outcome was for this incident. I only heard the dispatch and some of the radio chatter over dispatch. I can’t pick up their scene channels from where i’m at. I did hear units from Salsbury, Cornwall, Lakeville, and units from the rope rescue team staging. Was busy at a fundrasier so i didn’tr really pay much attention through the duration. I did hear a pt. update stating that he was experiencing backpain and he thought he had an ankle injury…as well as something about getting his sleeping bag out?? Maybe to make himself comfortable untill help arrived?”

Found this in the Republican American

A cell phone call from injured hiker Saturday prompted a five-hour search and rescue effort in Salisbury. Lakeville Hose Co. No. 1 and Salisbury Ambulance volunteers were dispatched at 2:35 p.m. to assist a cell phone caller who had fallen an estimated 30 feet and injured an ankle in the vicinity of Sage’s Ravine, a section of the Appalachian Trail known for rocky waterfalls and thick woods. Emergency dispatchers were in contact with the hiker on and off via cell phone throughout the day. At one point, rescue crews called for help from an Air National Guard aircraft, but that call was cancelled when the hiker was located by ground crews. Rescuers were expected to emerge from the woods about 8 p.m.
