I am thru hiking and need to get to the Albany airport on Friday evening on 8/5 or Saturday morning on 8/6. I should be in Dalton or Williamstown, Mass by then. What is the easiest/cheapest way to get to the airport?

You can most likely get a bus from near there to Albany. I was just wondering why you are flying out of Albany instead of Boston or Manchester, NH. I think it would be easier to get to those airports. If I wasn’t busy that weekend I would shuttle you but I have a previous committment. Good Luck!

There is almost certainly bus service from Pittsfield (the town next to Dalton) to Albany. I suggest that when you get to Dalton, talk to either Rob Bird or Tom Levardi, two local trail angels. I’m sure that either one of them can either run you to Pittsfield or perhaps even all the way to Albany itself. Tom lives directly on the Trail on Depot Street; Rob is in the center of the town and is easy to find…good luck!

There appears to be no bus service from Dalton. Bonanza (Bonanzabus.com)leaves Williamstown from the Williams Inn (west side of the campus on route 2) at 10 arriving at the Albany airport 2:05 to 3:10 depending on the day and leaving at 4 pm arriving 9:05. Alternatively you can catch it in Pittsfield which is less than 30 min from Williamstown and 10 minutes from Dalton at 1:40 pm and 7:35 pm arriving 3:10 and 9:05. Fares are $19 (Williamstown) and $15 (Dalton).
From Bennington, VT (route 9), there is a daily Greyhound bus leaving at 10:30 am arriving at the Albany airport at 11:35.
