Does anyone know what the AT mile is where Route 42 runs into the trail? It’s close to Newport I guess. I’ll heading north. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Va 42 is aproximately 544.4 miles from Springer or it was in 2003 give or take an extra or less for Trail relocations. it is close to Newport Va and aprox 5 mile West of Ceres Va.

According to the Appalachian Trail Mate, Va. Rt. 42 is 542.2 miles north of Springer.
Don’t understand he difference between guides.
