Does anyone know if:
There is a shelter in Carter County,TN,White Rocks Mountain area?

Is there a Ledford Branch on the AT in Carter County?

PS…If anyone knows Cakalaki from 2003…I have a DVD slideshow of my hike and would love to share it with any of my AT friends. Just e-mail me at i4cutigers@hotmail.com

it’s really hard to know with that section of the trail… Bob Peoples and the various TEHC have been doing major relo’s in that area over the past few years, which are responsible, among other things, for the trail lenghtening by a few miles every year. as of two years ago, there was a shelter just before white rocks mt., and there was one at laurel falls. If you want the most accurate info, i would contact Bob (you can get his contact info from any guidebook).

bob peoples number is 423-725-4409 a great guy who knows and keeps a clear and clean trail. i was thinking that was his area that moreland gap shelter is in aprox 6 miles south from usfs road 50 or 2 miles north to laurel fork shelter, but my memory fails me if i even went by moreland gap last year due to a 4 mile relocation. i believe bob was building a shelter, so someone who has a 2005 wingfoot handbook may be yer best ticket for shelter info. north of wataga lake is wataga shelter just a stones throw from the lake if yer looking for a little bit more than a stroll.
