…so hoping this is not the parkside we got to know this year at woodshole with his little dog nutty…can anyone confirm?..(or hopefully deny?)…we are just sick at this news…

Maw-ee, this the same person. On White Blazes, there is a link to his blog that his mother kept in their discussion forum about this accident.

…i am stunned!..and so, so sad!..keith : would you happen to have a link?..(i have looked on white blaze and see only the news article links, which may be what you have referred to)…parkside was one of the neatest young men paw and i met on the trail this year…very friendly…witty…a seriously good hiker…trying so hard to take care of the little dog he found on the trail…when we had all gathered around dinner at woodshole, being invited by neville to give thanks, parkside said he was “thankful to be young”…we are so very disheartened at this news…our thoughts and prayers go out to his family (and friends, some of whom we also met on the trail)…
