Safe parking in durango

Does anybody know a safe place in Durango where I can leave my car for a few weeks starting August 6? Thanks.

Hi there, local here. There really aren’t any great options within the City…the City of Durango (where I work) has the right to ticket/tow vehicles that have been stationary for 24 hours, and our budget is crazy tight so they’re probably keeping an eagle’s eye out for parking violations. And I don’t carry enough weight around here to excuse thruhikers! You might want to contact Candace Lemon, who runs the Durango Hometown Hostel. She’s super nice and might let you keep your car there. The number is (970) 385-4115. There’s also a Walmart on Hwy 160/550, I’m pretty sure they allow cars to hang out there. Hope this helps!
