I have sad news to post. Sam Hughes has passed away. I’m sorry if this is old news; however, I did not see any posting to this effect and I thought that it was important for the CDT hikers to know. I had the opportunity to meet Sam earlier this year when my hiking partner and I started the trail. He has helped countless hikers start and recognize their dream of doing the CDT. He carried a notebook in his jeep which I had the pleasure of reading on the way to Crazy Cook. He was a great guy and his help will be greatly missed.
