Sargent's mesa war memorial

When you cross sargent’s mesa near the 16/17 boundary it is well worth taking a slight side trip to see a memorial to southeast Asian wars. It is at 38 deg 17’ 31.56" N x 106 deg 22’ 17.16W. It is kept very low key by the forest service at the request of the builder. On Google Earth it appears as a triangle just below the target co-ordinates. apple

Horsewisher,
Go to Google Maps and type in “Sargents Mesa, CO” Select “Satellite” and zoom in. Scroll a bit to the right and you will see FS Road 855. At the point where 855 makes a 90 degree turn to the west, follow the faint road that trends to the north. This faint road will make a sharp turn trending northeast. Follow the road this direction, and you will see the stone triangle around the Soldierstone.
