Scenic AT sections of VT?

I’m looking for some scenic sections of the AT in Vermont. Could you send me some/all of your suggestions? I’ll be hiking this August, probably for 2-3 days.

Ideally there’d be an SUV suitable road crossing at the start and/or finish and a shelter along the way. Thanks in advance.

I’m a Long Trail end to ender. My favorite AT section in VT is Stratton to Killington - south to north. More precisely, Stratton-Arlington Rd to US4/Sherburne Pass. That is about a 65 mile trip. There are several paved, road crossings along the way. The southern end (S-A Rd to VT140) features three beautiful swimming ponds, a couple of ski hills, and some good climbing. The northern portion (VT140 to US4) also has a couple of ski mountains and a great river crossing.

I thru hiked the Long Trail twice,I agree with Digit, the Stratton to Rt.4 is your best bet.Stratton Pond is very nice, with easy hiking around the Ponds. In Division 4,I liked the view from Baker Peak and the valley below and view of Mt.Equinox.If you do hike to Sherburne Pass[Rt.4]I would not stay at GOV.Clement Shelter, there is a dirt road nearby and some locals take great delight in harrising Hikers.:cheers

I live in Vermont and I have done the Long Trail a couple of times and the southern section about 10 times. I agree that the Stratton to Rt 4 section is wonderful. If you are looking for bigger views however the higher terrain - Mansfield, Camel’s Hump has them. They are however rougher and more demanding than the AT sections in the south. D Train :cheers

I also love that section of the AT/LT in VT. I remember that the Stratton-Arlington road was a little hard to find as it is not marked well. However there is a good parking area at the trail head.
