Section 2,3,4 - The Colorado Trail

I’m coming to Denver area for work and would like to take a couple days for some bping. I’m looking at 3 days 2 nights. The CT seems to fit as I want to stay within 2 hours of Denver area. I’m looking at up to 15 miles round trip.

My dates are May 20-22 for the trip. Any thoughts on these sections? Anyone have links for these sections? Best section for sights & wildlife?

That sounds like a nearly perfect time for the Lost Creek Wilderness. There’s a loop hike in there, a little more than 15 miles but definitely a unforgettable three day hike.

There is a 26 mile loop that is just fantastic (along with 36 mile version that rocks)

You could hike from Waterton Canyon…but that is not the best backpacking terrain IMO.
