Hey Tortoise -
I’d imagine it is totally doable.
Right now, there is little to no snow on the ground here in MA - though I suspect in higher elevations, there still could be some - ie: in the Greylock Mountain Area.
Weather is pretty all over the place in New England up until late April - so snow is def. not out of the question if it gets cold enough at night. Just today we had some snow and ice.
Bring cold weather gear. The average low will be around 30 degrees, and average high will be at or slightly above 50 degrees. Colder than that in the mountains without question.
The section is only about 90 miles or so… none of which is very challenging. So I’d say you’d only need 7 - 10 days to complete it. Maybe less. Just keep in mind that this is still considered EARLY SEASON up here. It will be very muddy, and probably quite desolate.
Enjoy!

Thanks for your thorough report. Have sectioned hiked from
Springer and hope to finish Mass. this spring before tick season. Have had lyme disease. No fun. Not to scare any thru hikers. Just be careful and have a great hike.
Thanks again Tortoise

I live here in the berkshires where the AT runs. And, there is a lot of snow, Depending on when you come in April there could still be lots of snow. Temps are getting higher, but we had snow Friday - so it will be a while before the snow is gone. Actually might be easier in the snow than the mud that will follow.
