I want to try to get another seg of CT done this yr…what are the chances of being able to drive into trailheads for seg 16, 17 or 18…do those dirt rds get plowed in any way?? Was hoping to go wkend of 10/15…please reply directly to lindajagger@yahoo.com

Best info about access roads that I know of, like when roads are likely to be open and plowed, etc., comes from the Ranger Districts. The CTF website has a page called “Trail Resources by Segment” that includes the Ranger District(s) for each trail segment plus their phone number, here:

That would be Marshall Pass to Saguache Park Road. I have been in these locations later than that and got in and out ok. Eddiesville at the end of Seg 19 will probably be ok as well. These are all hunting access points and get lots of traffic well into November. The are not plowed if there is a big snow so you take your chances.
