Today, Somehow and myself tried to hike to the top of the continental divide heading southbound on segment 15. We camped the night before about 7 miles up and then tried to get to the top early this morning.
We got stopped by snow about 3/10’s of a mile from the treeline where we lost the trail. There were no footprints ahead of ours.
Someone with a GPS or who is familiar with the trail might be able to make it, but we didn’t want to get lost. I couldn’t see the ridge after, so I can’t say what’s there.
Keep in mind, we are not real experienced, so we didn’t go as far as others might in the same conditions.
