Is it too soon to do Copper Mtn to Camp Hale section 8?

On CTF Facebook page I read someone’s post that they made it (a northbound CDT hiker) but encountered a lot of snow still. Sounded like snow was patchy below the passes but solid for 3.5 miles in the neighborhood of Searle and Kokomo Passes. They indicated that when they crossed the snow, it supported them and they walked on top of the snow. Guessing this condition will vary depending on time of day and which week you arrive. Later each day it will soften and you might sink in worse. As days go by and it melts more, it might lose moisture and be less supportive.
