Can someone with a data book tell me the distance between Molas Pass (above Silverton) and the Continental Divide along the CT (the Ridge near Beartown Rd./Kite Lake)?
It should be about 10-15 miles but seems I always guess short and take much longer than expected to hike the section. Thanks.

I just finished the hike last week. The flowers in Upper Elk Creek were amazing and there was a bear running around by the Animas River. The data book shows 13.8 miles from Molas Pass to the Continental Divide above Elk Creek. SJ Ron

It is 13.8 miles to the crossing of highway 550 at Molas Pass, which is the official break point. If you go to the Molas Lake TH it is 12.3 miles.
