Segment Weather Conditions This Time of Year?

Hi guys!

I know it’s early in the season, thus this is ambitious I’m sure, but I want to hike a little bit of the CT starting next Thursday. I was thinking Segments 1 and 2 since they’re the lowest elevation and the chance of snow would be less, but 1 is closed until December (sigh), so I’m thinking of doing 2 and 3. What are my chances of having clement hiking/weather conditions? Or will I be snowshoeing?

Reports are that #2-#3 are free of snow.

Only the first 6.5 miles or so of Seg 1 is closed. There is an alternate start at Indian Creek. Here is a link to the map on coloradotrail.org

As a followup, what range of temperatures do you think I’ll be looking at? Should I expect it to be pretty chilly and windy and rainy?

What will the weather be like this early in the season?

It really varies by the day. I was on Segment 1 this week and overnight it was in the 20’s. Check the forecast (I use wunderground.com) for Bailey, CO and subtract 5 degrees for an idea.
