Hi
Experienced active hiker and Long Trail end to end, 1981, looking to revisit northern portion of Long Trail end of september 2004. Have 7 to 10 days, would like to combine slackpacking with backpacking from yet to be determined points, possibly rte 4 north or canada south. Looking for hiking partner or 2 and or possibly driver to assist with shuttle…any thoughts

I am still planning (hoping) to do the LT starting early Sept so I would be up North by the end. I am normally a 2.5 mph kind a guy, but who knows, Ive never been out by myself before. You can find me on TrailJournals… http://www.trailjournals.com/cameljohn/
Maybe Ill see you out there.

Hey CamelJohn
Let’s see, also somewhat of a tech head with all the good stuff…I swear my pack weighs hals what it used to with all the ultra light stuff and by god a little knowledge and experience. Usually a 2 to 2.5 mile guy though northern vermont like many sections in the Whites, my normal stomping grounds, will slow you down some. You sound well prepared and ready to roll…while I am planning on doing something that week whether it be to revisit the LT, tackle the Bigelows in Maine, or some as yet undecided route, the decsion has not been made…Will you be through hiking the trail, slackpacking, or a combo…Did some slackpacking in Tenn. this spring on AT with some friends…chewed up a lot of miles on some days and the hot shower thing, glass of wine not a bad way to close out the day…Will post gear shortly to give you an idea where I am at…Keep on truckin
