You will have a very mixed bag, weatherwise. There will be some beautiful warm sunny days. There will be snow. There will be freezing cold. There will be Indian summer. Be prepared for some cold and snow and you’ll be fine. Usually the early snows melt quickly, but have the maps so you can bail out if necessary.

Many cherish Colorado including the CT in September. As long as you’re okay with a fleeting snowstorm you’ll likely enjoy immensely.

Sounds like my kind of Weather…Thru Hiked AT in 1998 March-April- Sept-October and Loved the cool,color & no bugs!

We hiked mid Aug thru mid sept…spectacular and not many folks out there except for weekends…going late July this time
