I tried to do the same thing a couple of weeks ago. County Road gets more narrow as you progress to the end and there’s an area where you can park about .9 miles (East) from the AT/LT - good drop off point, but I don’t think I’d like to leave my car there overnight. You can continue, but it gets real narrow and there’s only room for one car passage at a time, one direction only. I did not go further, but there may be a spot for 1 or 2 cars if you care to venture further towards Seth-Warner; don’t know. I did not attempt this as I was running late and could not hike that day. I’m interested, myself, as to what lies beyond the apparent parking area (no sign, circular area, remnants of an open campfire) that’s about a half mile beyond the dirt road on the left (that goes to N.Adams).
