Shuttle in the smokies

just wondering has any one used or heard of laurel springs resort in Crosby Tn as a shuttle and a place for the night? We would stay there before and after our hike. They say that they drop you off and pick up with YOUR car. We want to start at RT.32 and end our section at the NOC. Or is there any one else we could use? Were coming from MA. This would be in mid September.

donna, my boys and I are doing the same section in Sept. The NOC will let you leave your vehicle there, you can get a bunk house spot there also. getting a ride from the NOC to rt 32 should not be a problem, I asked this question last month on another site and had two offers to take us from local hikers.

I have had good results with Bill Johnson of Appalachian Trail Services for shuttles around this area. I found him to be very professional and reasonably priced. He uses his own car and you can leave yours where you plan to end your hike.

I’d suggest calling Curtis at Standing Bear Farm. He’s a great guy, loves hikers, and doesn’t mind giving shuttles when needed. He shuttled me doing a Smokies traverse and was flexible, courteous, and reasonable. I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again next time I need a shuttle.

Good luck!
