Shuttle near Mt Rogers

Hi all, I am looking for shuttle possibilities around Mt Rogers National Recreation Area in Virginia. Any thoughts, or anyone willing to help. I am hoping to park my car at Mt Rogers NRA and have someone shuttle me to where Hwy 321 crosses the AT near Hampton, TN. I would say approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away. Also, can anyone tell me how far the Partnership Shelter (near Hwy 16) is from the Mt. Rogers NRA. Just so I know how far I have to walk back to my car after I have completed the hike. The shuttle may be for two individuals. I am hoping my 18 year old son can make the hike this year, but he just started a new job. If not, it will be just myself and I am looking at hiking the last week of August.

Thanks for your help

A lot depends on where you actually want to leave your car. It is possible to park at the Forest Service office within yards of Partnership or directly across the road (can risk towing if left for long on the road). The "unofficial" exit from the NRA northbound on the AT is at VA603 Fox Creek which is about 23 miles south of Partnership. I would suggest parking in Damascus, shuttling south, hiking to Partnership and having a shuttle arranged back to Damascus (about a 45 min drive via VA16, I-81 and VA91). Great scenery awaits you in the Highlands...enjoy!!

I wouldnt leave your vehicle at the trail head I left mine there a few years ago and it was stolen. Parking in damascus across from the outfitter is $2.00 a day and well worth it.
