Hello everyone. Doing my home work for a Colorado Trail trek in 2014. Apparently Greyhound Bus lines no longer services Durango or Silverton, Colorado. Contacted one of the local limo services in Durango, CO, they want $350.00 for a ride to Grand Junction, CO (the nearest Amtrak or Greyhound station). Looking for someone to shuttle me to Grand Junction, Gunnison, or Salida, Colorado so I can catch the Amtrak or Greyhound home in late July 2014. Please contact me at bannonrace54@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance. Everyone have a great hike and be careful out there! Swagman

You can get a flight out of DRO (Durango) on a few airlines. Frontier and American service that airport. American’s last flight of the season is August 9th, I think (TMI, sorry–I have researched the heck out of this subject.) I am pretty sure even United and US Airways (which just bought AA) might as well. That is what I am going to do this year. Flying into Denver and out of DRO. (It costs basically the same as a round trip ticket doing the “Multi-City” option when purchasing–$422 from and to DFW Cheaper than driving or renting a car from Dallas. That might be an option as well. Not to mention, you will have plans set with no mystery as to how you can get back to your “real life.” Now, if you live in Denver, Frontier may be the cheapest, but the flights leave at 7am, and there is no standard taxi or bus service in DRO before 7 am, and some of the hotels offer rides to the airport, but those are $200 a night-so you pay for it. At least, that has been the product of my research. (frontier is about $177 one way to Denver–but you have to have that date hammered out. before hand.

Several car rental agencies in Durango. You can rent one way to almost anywhere.
