It looks like my 3 week section hike might get reduced to 2 weeks. Does anyone know of a shuttle service that can pick up at Fontana and what the closest airport might be?

If you could hike all the way to Newfound Gap, that would save a lot of time and money. There are taxi services in Gatlinburg TN (11 miles from Newfound Gap) that could take you much cheaper and quicker to Knoxville Airport.

Steamer is right about Newfound Gap plus it is an easy hitch from the Gap to Gatlinburg. The Hike Inn will provide you whatever service you may need at a fair cost, ie not cheap.
