I’m looking for info on that section of trail reguarding snow levels. We’d be Nobo starting around the 25th of june. Seems they’ve had a big snow year up there.

As you probably know, check out Postholer. The closest snow sensor to that section is the Bucks Lake sensor.

As of 5/5, it’s showing 63.7" SWE. By way of comparison, in 2006, on 5/5, it was showing 58.9" SWE.

On my thru in ‘06, I didn’t break clear of snow until just south of Sierra City, and that was about July 17th. Granted, that area averaged about 8,000’ of elevation, and the part from Sierra City to Chester is generally closer to 5 to 7k, excepting the big drops into the valleys.

Let the world know what you find. It’ll be an interesting datapoint on snow conditions in late June further north than the typical thru hikers will be.
