Has anyone used the Sierra Designs Vapor Light 1 - Tent or have heard any reviews about this tent. I am possibly looking to purchase this tent for my 2012 NOBO hike. Any information about this item would be helpful. Campmor dosen't have any reviews.

Thanks,
Alvin

									Alvin,

HooYaa did an A.T. Section hike in 2012 with the Vapor Light 2. He has a journal here on TrailJournals so you could e-mail him and ask what he thought of it. Might give you an idea of what to expect from the “1”.

I think the Vapor Light 1 would get you up the Trail just fine. However, the Seedhouse SL2 weighs the same as the Vapor Light. It is also a quality tent, but would give you room for your equipment (pack) also.

Depending on the year, it can get very wet on the A.T. … and it can be nice to bring your gear “inside” and fuss with it while it’s pouring outside.

Not much help here, but something to ponder while wandering around REI!

Have a great hike! Bison, AT '09

Sorry ... hate when I do that ... HooYaa's hike was in 2010.

Alvin, I have the Big Agnus Seedhouse SL2. Loved iton the trail. Plenty of room for one plus gear. Could use a little more head room for when you sit up. The only thing that I don't like about the tent is the entry door is in the front. It would be nicer with a side entry door & vesibule. Other than that the SL2 was great. I had allot of rain in the beginning of my hike & the tent prformed well.

If you're open to other light (2 lbs) tents that give you the option of free-standing (use your trekking poles) for times in the Whites, is huge inside (you, your gear and not be crowded), headroom for someone 6 ft plus tall to sit up without your head and neck bent with all the bug protection and easy in and easy out door way, well then you really should consider the Henry Shires Rainbow. Mine has 3000 miles of hiking and is still awesome. You know, if you're open to amazingly good inventions. My 2 cents.

Check out Lightheart tents which you can "google" quite easily. Judy has them in different models and materials. I have seen them and like the Duo since I prefer more room. You can find testimonials to help you decide. :tongue

You use your trekking poles to set up, but she has poles, too for cyclists, or canoe campers who wouldn’t have trekking poles.
