Sierra Snow Condition

This is a question to all you people who came through the Sierra early. Was there enough snow to make it worth skiing? And was the snow in good condition? I’m planning a thruhike and wanted to get people’s opinions about this. I’ve skied the JMT once with lightweight telemark gear, so I’m OK with the terrain, but that was in March with very nice snow.

We came out of the sierra a week or two ago, I would say the snow wasn’t nice for skiing, it’s either soft and slushy or crusty and icy…but I’m not a ski expert! The days have been so hot it’s melting fast, but Mammoth Mountain was still open as of July 4th.
