Reports from those who have been in the Whitney area with snow gear indicate a lot of snow. I use Memorial Day weekend at Horseshoe Meadow as a gouge. Amazing how the snow levels vary year to year. Three years ago, completely covered - including the slopes ofTrail Peak and Cottonwood Pass. Last year - no snow. So I guess the answer “It depends”.

As of May 1st the snowpack is at 146% for the Sierras.
