Slack Pack Seg 15 Marshall Pass

I’ve heard of people slack packing segment 15 up to Marshall Pass.

Me and my wife are hoping to get a shuttle to the top of Marshall pass and hike the segment all the way down. Then get a shuttle back the next day to start segment 16.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Also, can anyone recommend a shuttle service in the area? Price?

Thanks

I don’t know of any shuttles to Marshall Pass, but if you can’t find one you might consider this.

The Monarch Crest bike shuttle runs cyclists up daily from Poncha Springs to Monarch Pass. You could take the shuttle to Monarch Pass, hike 4.3 miles on the CT west/CDT route, then down Fooses Creek 8.6 miles to the beginning of Segment 15. The next day you could take the shuttle back up with all your gear and hike 10.8 fairly easy miles to Marshall Pass. e-mail for the shuttle is: info@monarchcrest.com Phone # is 1-800-871-5145

I don’t know if this would help, but I still have to do Segments 16 and 17 sometime this year and wouldn’t mind the company. I’ve already done Segment 15 so am not interested in that segment again, but I could spend the day fishing in the area and plan on a meet up on Marshall Pass. If you have a car in the area you could provide the other half of the shuttle, or if my non-hiking wife comes with me then she could provide the shuttle. My original plans were to be dropped off at Marshall Pass and meet my wife at 15 mile mark at Sargent’s Mesa, restock with water and then do the 20 miles to Hwy 114 and end of Segment 17. Were you only wanting to do Segment 16?
