Sleeping Bag Help

OK, I have succesfully upgraded most of my equipment, and now it is time to worry about my sleeping bag. I have practically no knowledge about sleeping bags, and I was looking for some help. the sleeping bag I have is a 20* bag. it is fairly light and compact, and I have never been cold in it, even in february in the smokies. My problem is that I sweat in it, and it doesn’t absorb the sweat, it just causes the bag to stick to my skin, I sleep shirtless. What type of bag could I get where the bag won’t stick to me like this, I would like to be able to shuffle around in the bag and not feel impeded.

I’m sure there are some new bag liner materials that would work. I’m just not familiar with them.

But you could also consider using a liner in the bag - more comfortable to your skin; keeps the bag cleaner; gives a little bit of additional warmth.

The other solution would be to sleep in a top, bottom, and socks that are comfortable to you. Polypro or something similar.

I agree. grap a cheap liner or a silk one. Silk liners feel great, add 7-8 degrees in warmth and make great togas to wear while you do laundry. i saw Linus wear hers several time this summer, and it was actuallt quite fashionable. Get a liner.

I think the solution is not to get a bag that absorbs your sweat but to get a bag that you don’t sweat in! If you use a quilt like a Nunatak Ghost then you can open it up when it’s hot and you won’t sweat. When it’s cold you sinch it down tight.
