I’ve used the Nunatak Back Country Blanket for about three years now and am very happy with it. I sleep in a hammock and a quilt just works better than a mummy sleeping bag. I’ve also used the JacksRbetter No Sniviler Under Quilt as a sleeping bag. It doesn’t work as well as a sleeping bag as it’s a little short on width (but it’s wonderfull for what it was designed for, a under quilt for a hammock). But, JacksRbetter has a couple of new quilts that are much wider and a lot cheaper than the Nunatak qear.

Rain Queen and I sewed the Ray Jardine quilt. It was lots of fun and a fun way to prepare for the trail. Used it the untire way, and never really had any complaints. We were SOBO in 2005 the entire way and bought silk liners in So. Lake Tahoe for the High Sierra - worked out well for us. We are still using the quilt and plan to take it on our 2 month adventure this summer as it is still in good shape. Don’t be scared of the sewing - if you have any questions, shoot us an email jymbeam2001@yahoo.com

have fun
