Lucky you! When you get back would you send me a weather report. My husband and I are coming down there on 3/28 for 10 days camping and it’s hard to know what to pack. Is there snow? Is it Spring there? Have a marvelous time.

23 hours and 12 minutes… Started from Fontana Dam at 12:05 AM Saturday March 22nd, finished at Davenport Gap at 11:17 PM. Met and talked with half a dozen or more thru-hikers, had enough room in my pack to carry some snickers and reeses cups for each of them. Grizzly, the weather was about as good as it gets… did get some drizzle during the predawn hours, but clouds burned off with the sun. What a trip.

Were you jogging? Was that fun?

Sweeper, you are a machine! That’s really incredible, almost week’s worth of hiking for most. Any idea if/how many other folks have done this?

Not sure how many have completed the Smokies Challenge Adventure Run. I do know of 10 or so people. There are many more I’m sure. Wookie, to answer your question, even though you only need to average 3mph, we did do quite a bit of running when possible. It was a lot of fun except for, oh say the last 10 miles in the dark when I was more than ready to be finished for the day…

Well, wow. Did you get a view on Clingman’s? Was there snow anywhere?

I was out there on the 14,15,16th of March. Although I didn’t do the “Challange”, I did do some heavy milage. The weather was great. There was alot of fog and it was wet, but for the most part it was very comfortable. Here is a good weather site http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USLocalStd.asp?loc=ustnpk32&seg=LocalWeather&prodgrp=Forecasts&product=Forecast&prodnav=none
