Well, it depends of course. Could be very cold, very wet, very cold and wet, cold and dry, or cool and beautiful.
If you have some flexibility in your schedule, you can usually find a stretch of good weather in the Smokies in October - start just after a cold front has moved through and you might have four to seven days (sometimes longer) before the next front comes through. You’ll start with cold weather and it will moderate as you move forward.
